Voters turned out in huge numbers for an election that pits two very different visions of Iran against each other; either one that adheres strictly to the principles of the Islamic revolution, or a more moderate, reformist Iran.
The moderate President Hassan Rouhani, hoping for a second four year term, has promised to finish what he began with the 2015 nuclear deal, encouraging foreign investment, and bringing Iran back into the international fold.
