Chogha Zanbil is an ancient city from The Elamite period. The city was founded in the 13th century BCE. In 1999, research programs on preserving and restoring the ancient site, archaeological, architectural, geological studies were initiated and Chogha Zanbil World Heritage Base was established.
At the beginning of 2020, the complex was closed to the tourist due to the pandemic of Coronavirus, So Chogha Zanbil World Heritage Base focuses on virtual media in introducing the site.
