This light was an update to a 2015 version that was sent to me for review. That one has some creaky noise and was somewhat annoying when you're moving it around. This update version has better hinge and there is no more of those noise for the most part. Also included is a new color function which let you select a few different new color choice ranging from cold to warm temperature, great for various usage. The brightness control is back and overall a very well done lamp
