In this proposal, the viability and the effect on the structural damping of an active control strategy are verified.
A cantilever beam is embedded with piezoelectric layers. The free end of the beam is excited by a force signal with a linear chirp shape (to observe the frequency response). A velocity feedback control scheme is performed by emulating time-domain simulations using Python scripts.
The results show that the strategy is able to reduce vibration amplitudes by increasing the structural damping
