The use and study of the ducted wind turbine is nothing new. However, Assoc. Professor of Mechanical Aeronautical Engineering Ken Visser at Clarkson University has taken a new approach to the design that combines a unique blade shape with a novel integration of the rotor in the duct, creating a wind energy device with some very promising results.
