How to assign a static IP address to a Cisco Switch to allow Telnet access.
Accessing switch via Telnet
conf t
int fastEthernet 0/24 - in interface mode for port 10
switchport mode access - make this an access port
switchport access vlan 99 - assigned port to that vlan
int vlan 99
ip address 192.168.99.2 255.255.255.0
no shutdown
