Zayed Port covers a land area of 510 hectares and has 21 berths with a total length of 4,375 meters. There is over 143,000m² of covered warehousing space and cold storage facilities with a capacity of 20,000 tons. The 2009 throughput was 530,000 TEUs of containers, 4.9m tons of general cargo, 38,000 RO/RO units and 90,000 passengers. The port's commercial traffic (excluding cruise ship business) will be transferred to Khalifa Port from September 2012 onwards.
