This is part of an on-going project. During today's testing we are trying to run a modified 8 hp single cylinder gas engine that has been converted to run on steam. It is connected to a 2 hp 3600 rpm 3 phase induction electric motor, that is wired for 230 volt three phase. However, the third phase line is tied off and we have connected the motor to 230 volt single phase. This is the standard house hold voltage.
