Boil some water in a Borosil flask and then shut its mouth tightly with a rubber cork. Hang the flask upside-down so that its large base is on top. Place a wet cloth on the base and pour cold water on it. The water inside the flask will now start boiling because the pressure of air inside the flask has decreased. This is the reason why on hill stations the lentil on the stove may boil but might still remain uncooked.
