This video shows how a Hatsan AT44 air cylinder can be emptied when something (a regulator in this case) blocks the air path to the output valve. There is some danger in doing this, but it is possible to slowly unscrew the input valve block, what causes its o'ring to be sliced by the small hole in the cylinder, letting air out.
