Apollo 9, an Earth-orbit rehearsal for later lunar landings, was the 3rd manned flight of Project Apollo, and the first manned flight of the Lunar Module in the Apollo program. During the mission, Rusty Schweickert performed an EVA (spacewalk) from the Lunar Module to simulate later moonwalk EVAs.
